Thank you!
We would like to thank all those who took strike action on 30th June in defence of our pensions.
In Nottingham, the day began with pickets at some schools. Later, an estimated 2000 assembled at the Forest before marching into the City.
A short outdoor meeting in Trinity Square was followed by the march moving on to The Albert Hall for a strike rally.
The Nottingham events were part of a huge number of similar rallies across the country.

After months of limited media interest, widespread coverage forced Government ministers to try and defend the changes they intend to impose on teachers. They were forced to concede on their misrepresentations of the affordability of public sector pensions. It is clear that the action has started a proper debate and makes some movement in negotiations more likely. However, we expect that further action may be necessary in the coming months to secure fair pensions for all teachers.
A majority of schools in Nottingham were fully or partially closed.
We also thank parents for their tolerance and understanding. Their future support
will be vital in pressing the Government to re-
Here are a selection of photographs from the day. Our thanks to Gerald Peachey at Red Zebra Photography for allowing us to use them.
