Did you miss the Pensions Briefings?
When will you be able to afford to retire?
How much will you lose under the Government’s plans?
If you missed the briefing meetings you can view the NUT’s Pension presentation slides at http://www.teachers.org.uk/pensions
You can find out how much you are likely to lose by visiting the NUT’s Pension Loss Calculator
As you can see the proposals are very serious. Spread the word and join the fight back.

No further ballot needed for 30th Nov Strike
Unless there are further significant concessions from the Government we expect the strike on 30th November to take place.
Please note that the vote of NUT members in the Teachers’ Pension Scheme in June covers all members in the schools balloted to take action on 30 November. WE DO NOT NEED TO BALLOT AGAIN TO STRIKE ON 30 NOVEMBER.
Members in the Local Government Pension Scheme are also currently being balloted for action on the same day.
The strike on 30th November will involve hundreds of thousands of workers who did not strike on 30th June. We call upon all NUT members to join the strike as, sadly, the Government has proved it only seems to listen as a result of industrial action.
Some academy headteachers are telling their staff that those working in academies are not allowed to strike. This is incorrect. All NUT members who are paying into the Teachers Pension Scheme can strike. This includes those working in academies that have converted since the ballot in June. The employers in those academies will be formally notified by the Union at least 7 days before the strike. You DO NOT have to have voted in the ballot last term . Providing you are members of the NUT on 30th November you can strike. If your headteacher tells you otherwise please let us know as soon as you can.
